SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Two Stockade Storage facilities are extending a helping hand to students at Georgetown Elementary School by hosting a school supply drive.
Property Manager Sherry Cruz manages the store at 782 King George Boulevard and solicited help from colleague Kim Whittemore, the company's newest manager of the 1060 King George Boulevard location before approaching the school's principal with an offer to use their facilities as drop-off sites for public donations of much needed school supplies.
"Our company is very community conscious. With the school so close to our stores, it just made sense that we should do our part in helping the students and teachers meet their needs during these difficult economic times," said Cruz in a press release.
Items needed include: paper, pencils, crayons, glue, markers, highlighters, clear or mesh book-bags, tissue paper, paper towels and hand sanitizer.
Donations can be dropped off at either Stockade Storage location from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. – 4p.m. The school supplies drive wraps up October 10. For any donations after this date call either store directly to arrange delivery.
As an incentive each store is offering an additional 10 percent off its rental rates for donors in need of self storage.
