Authorities: Ft. Stewart soldier stabbed by fellow soldier

LONG CO., GA (WTOC) - A Ft. Stewart soldier was stabbed multiple times by another soldier Sunday morning when he came to the aid of a woman being assaulted, according to Long County Sheriff's Officer Detective Tom Sollosi.

Sollosi said the soldier was in his mobile home at the Magnolia Spring mobile home park on Tibet and Sandy Run Roads when he heard a commotion outside.  When he went to investigate the noise he saw a man assaulting a woman. The unidentified soldier went to her aid and was stabbed several times by the man, who has also been identified as a soldier, according to Long County Sheriff's authorities.

A neighbor placed the man in his pickup truck to take him to the hospital.  While speeding down Dunlevie Road in Walthourville, the driver spotted authorities sitting at a service station. The man told the officers he had an injured man while the stabbing victim opened his door and rolled out onto the ground.  The victim was flown by life star to Memorial Health.  His condition is currently unknown.
