One stabbed, one arrested after confrontation

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A 45-year-old man received potentially life-threatening injuries after being stabbed in a confrontation at an Ogeechee Road apartment this morning. A second man has been charged with aggravated assault.

Clarence Butler was rushed into surgery at Memorial University Medical Center after the 5:11 a.m. incident.

Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police West Chatham Precinct officers found Samuel Johnson hiding in a mobile home in a park across the street and charged him with the crime.

Witnesses said the two men were fighting when Johnson cut Butler in the stomach area and ran away. He got into a car and was taken to the residence where police found him hiding under clothing in a back bedroom.

SCMPD Violent Crimes detectives are continuing to investigate the incident.
