BRUNSWICK, GA (WTOC) - An autopsy is being performed Friday in Savannah on a man who was fatally shot in Brunswick.
Police arrived at about 3:03 a.m. to the intersection of Gloucester Street and M.L.K. on a report of a man down. Tyrone Sweeting, 55, of Glynn County, was found by officers in the road with a gunshot wound to his upper back, according to Brunswick police.
Officers performed CPR on Sweeting until EMS arrived. He was taken to the South East Georgia Regional Medical Center and was pronounced dead at 4 a.m.
Police said that evidence showed that the shooting happened in the 1600 block of MLK. Then Sweeting walked to the intersection of MLK and Gloucester Street, where he collapsed and was found by officers, according to police.
There are not yet any suspects.
Brunswick police said this shooting has no connection to Wednesday night's fatal shooting of 18-year-old Tytus Alston, of Brunswick. Police responded at about 10:35 p.m. to the 1400 block of Stonewall Street where Alston was found in the street unresponsive. He died later at the scene.
