Fire damages vacant Bluffton home

BLUFFTON, SC (WTOC) - Fire officials in Bluffton are trying to figure out what sparked a late night blaze Monday.

It happened at about 10:30 p.m. Monday at 162 Simmonsville Rd.

Fire officials said the mobile home was vacant at the time and no one was injured.

It took Bluffton firefighters about 30 minutes to get the fire under control, according to Capt. Randy Hunter, with the Bluffton Township Fire District. The structure was a total loss.

Units remained at the scene for about three hours to mop up and taking care of hot spots, according to Hunter.

Investigators with the Bluffton Township Fire District and Bluffton police are investigating.
