Fashion's Night Out to hit Broughton Street

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The inaugural Fashion's Night Out will take place Thursday on Broughton Street.

It will take place from 6 to 11 p.m. and will include music, art installations, designers, and fashion show.

More than 35 downtown shops will hold special events as part of the evening. The street will be closed to pedestrian foot traffic during the event.

Broughton Street will be closed from Montgomery Street to Drayton Street, starting at 3 p.m., but the intersection of Broughton at Montgomery will close at 2 p.m. On-street parking on Broughton must be cleared by 3 p.m.; vehicles remaining after 3 p.m. will be subject to being towed at owner's expense, according to the city of Savannah.

The city is offering parking discounts during Fashion's Night Out. Parking is free in the Civic Center parking lot and will be $2 in the Whitaker Street, Bryan Street and State Street garages.

A trolley will run and there will be stops at the Civic Center; Whitaker and Jones; Whitaker and York; Bull and Charlton; and Bull and State streets.

    The two passengers of the white sedan, an adult male and a small child, were airlifted to a trauma hospital in Savannah. Officials on scene confirmed that the child was not restrained in a car seat, and was not wearing a seatbelt.
