Ridgeland woman sentenced for boyfriend's slaying

RIDGELAND, SC (WTOC) -

A 22-year-old woman was sentenced Wednesday to 23 years in prison for the fatal stabbing on her boyfriend on New Year's Eve.

Tara Marie Weber was found guilty of one count of voluntary manslaughter for killing 24-year-old Kyle Mitchell Way during an argument at the couple's Lowther Lane home, according to the Fourteenth Circuit Solicitor's Office.

Weber stabbed Way once with a kitchen knife in the upper chest. He died on the way to the hospital.

There was a history of domestic violence between the two, according to the Fourteenth Circuit Solicitor's Office.
