Here's a chance for you to help needy children through the holiday season and into the new year. The Cracker Barrel restaurant on Highway 80 in Pooler is making it possible. They have a big Christmas tree, and instead of ornaments, they have slips of paper, each with the name of a child in need. Customers take a slip and purchase the gift for the child listed.
It's a big hit with customers, and employees. "A lot of our employees will grab them up and buy lots of stuff for the kids," said training coordinator Sherry Harvath. "We really enjoy doing all this."
You're asked to drop off your gift by December 15. The Pooler Fire Department will help Santa get them to the kids by Christmas.
