A bizarre accident on a busy interstate has sent one woman to the hospital. Savannah-Chatham police tell us a woman was heading west down I-16 when a ladder fell off the truck in front of her. She swerved to miss it, went off the road, and hit a road marker before coming to a stop in a ditch.
Police and firefighters helped the woman from the car. She was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police say her injuries are non life-threatening.
Officers do not have a description of the truck the ladder may have fallen off, but are still investigating the accident.
