The Youth Futures Authority held its annual "Policy Over Pancakes" legislative breakfast this morning. Key issues, such as health, safety, education, and family security form the agenda presented to local elected officials. Representatives for Youth Futures say these issues make a real difference for children who don't have a voice.
"Kids don't have a vote and they can't vote for themselves and often times, their issues can easily get overlooked," said Linda Zoller with the Youth Futures Authority. "So we band together to try to keep their issues out in front of the public."
Georgia's labor commissioner, Michael Thurmond, was the guest speaker.
