Try Transit Week kicks off Monday

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Chatham Area Transit announced that Try Transit Week will run from Monday to this Friday.

The week promotes awareness of public transportation with themes for each day.

On Monday, CAT's staff will greet passengers at major transfer points to thank them for their business and to give out small gifts as part of Passenger Appreciation Day.

On Tuesday, government employees can ride public transportation for free as part of Government Employees Day.

On Wednesday, students from kindergarten to 12th grade can ride the bus while they are in uniform for Students Appreciation Day. College students can ride for free with a current and valid college identification card.

On Thursday, residents 62 and older and those with disabilities can rise the bus and use the Teleride for free.

On Friday, CAT employees will attend a special event for Transit Employees Appreciation Day.
