Pooler Chamber meets with candidates

POOLER, GA (WTOC) - The Pooler Chamber of Commerce held its Update Lunch and Learn on Tuesday. Chamber members and others had lunch and conversation with the candidates.

"This is our second political forum that we're hosting to bring together the people of pooler and Chatham County to know what's going on in Pooler so the candidates have an option to tell what they stand for, this way they can come out and talk to people, tell them exactly where they stand on political issues," said Jean DeLong, president of the Pooler Chamber of Commerce.

DeLong said there are several election year issues that could make or break a candidate, including Sunday alcohol sales and how to spend Educational Special Local Option Sales Tax funds.

Those candidates who attended the event: Mike Lamb and Travis Cowart, Jr., candidates for mayor; and council candidates Rebecca Benton, Shannon Black, Ashley Brown, David Burke, Jeff Rayno, Laura Chan, and Steve Wall. Candidates Bruce Allen, Mike Royal and Johnathan Curry were unable to attend due to work schedules.
