Stephen King to headline Savannah Book Festival

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Best-selling and award-winning author Stephen King will be the guest of honor at this year's Savannah Book Festival.

The world renown writer will deliver the closing address at 3 p.m. Feb. 19, 2012 at the Trustees Theater. The festival runs from Feb. 15 to 19.

King has written more than 350 works since he started publishing in 1967. He was won several awards including the National Book Foundation Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters and the Horror Guild Award; Mystery Writers of America Grand Master Award.

His latest novel, 11/22/63, will be released Nov. 8. On Nov. 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy was shot. The book explores the chance to change the course of history and whether the consequences be worth it, according to the Savannah Book Festival.
