COLUMBIA, SC (WTOC) - The South Carolina Dept. of Health and Environmental Control and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration will be injecting harmless red dye into the Beaufort River on Sept. 26, the DHEC announced Thursday.
The red dye tracks where the Port Royal Wastewater Treatment Plant's discharge travels during different tide levels, according to the DHEC.
The dye will be injected near the Port Royal Marina.
The DHEC said the dye should be diluted by the end of the next day.
