SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Savannah's finest gained 18 new members on Friday.
Men and women graduated from the Regional Police Academy. During their 11 weeks in the academy, the recruits focused on learning all parts of the law, including Georgia's laws.
"You know, there's some stressful points and they kind of have to rely on each other to make it through and get the support. This class did an excellent job of bonding and pulling through the tough, stressful times," said Harlan Proveaux, manager of the Georgia Public Safety Training Center.
The recruits will spend six weeks continuing training before being pinned as officers.
