SCAD students build shed for Second Harvest

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Architecture students with the Savannah College of Art and Design are wrapping up a community project on Saturday.

SCAD and GoDesign Inc. designed and built a garden area and tool shed for American's Second Harvest Food Bank.

It's part of a partnership between Architecture Professor Ryan Bacha's studio class at Savannah College of Art and Design and GoDesign Inc. in humanitarian aid study on building in developing countries.

GoDesign is testing building techniques such as rammed earth construction, soil cement, and bamboo construction that will help them during their trip this October to build a school in southern Ethiopia, according to a news release.
