SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Troy Anthony Davis will finally be put to rest on Oct. 1.
Davis died by lethal injection around 11 p.m. on Sept. 22. He was sentenced to death for the murder of Savannah Police Officer Mark MacPhail back in 1989. For two decades, Davis proclaimed his innocence, even moments before he was executed.
Davis' family will celebrate his life on Saturday at the Jonesville Baptist Church on Montgomery St. in Savannah. The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m.
