Nearly 50 more members of the Georgia Air National Guard are back home for the holidays. Friends and family members of troops at the 165th Airlift Wing were delighted yesterday afternoon as their loved ones returned from Operation Iraqi Freedom.
For some, it was their second or third deployment overseas. "It's a dangerous environment over there and we tried to fly tactically sound so that we protect ourselves as much as we can, and we're just grateful to be home," said Maj. John Steele.
The 165th Airlift Wing still has 80 Airmen in the Middle East.
