The Red Cross helps our troops in many ways: care packages, letters from home, comfort to the wounded. Now, they're adding one more. They're bringing holiday cheer to some US troops.
The Savannah Red Cross and the musical review of Lost in the Fifties is putting on a free show to troops on medical hold tomorrow night. The Red Cross says there are close to 800 soldiers convalescing in Savannah, most of them National Guardsmen and Reservists away from home. "It's important for the holidays, particularly this holiday season, that we do something for them," said Red Cross spokesman Harvey Libow.
For troops interested in seeing Lost in the Fifties, it's not too late to get tickets. You can contact the Red Cross at 651-5314 or contact the Chaplain's Office at Hunter Army Airfield.
