Motorcycle accident sends man to hospital

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - A man is in the hospital after a motorcycle accident on Savannah's Southside on Sunday morning.

The accident occurred just before 10 a.m. at Mall Way and Whitebluff Road.

Barrett Patout, 24, was traveling east on Mall Way after leaving the shopping center on White Bluff Road in a GMC pick-up truck. He was crossing over White Bluff Road through a green light when was struck by by Christopher Ratliff, 26, on a Suzuki motorcycle, according to Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police.

The SCMPD Major Accident Investigation Team determined that Ratliff had been traveling northbound on the motorcycle.

Ratliff was ejected from his motorcycle and transported to Memorial Health Medical Center with life threatening injuries. Patout was not injured.

The accident is considered an ongoing investigation.
