City vendors must register with new data system

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The city of Savannah has moved to a new electronic procurement system that's aimed at  streamlining and expediting the bidding process for vendors that do business with the city.

Businesses that want to work with the city of Savannah must register with the new SavePro system. Registration with SavePro is required even if the business had been registered with the Webbids program that the city had formerly used.

To access SavePro, go to and click on the "Purchasing, Bids & Contracts" link. The city's Savannah Purchasing Department is holding two open houses for businesses to meet with buyers and learn about the SavePro system. The open houses run from 2 to 5 p.m. Oct. 7 and 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 20 at the Purchasing Department, which is on the third floor of City Hall, 2 E. Bay St.

Attendees are asked to bring a government-issued ID, such as a driver's license, for security purposes.
