State senator Eric Johnson (R-Savannah) wants to protect the rights of outdoor sportsmen. As the constitution reads now, hunting and fishing are not included as a right. He's proposing a constitutional amendment guaranteeing hunting and fishing rights throughout Georgia.
"You do not have a constitutional right to hunt and fish," he said. "You have a constitutional right to bear arms, free speech, those kinds of rights, but not one to go out and gather game. And there are more and more restrictions."
If the house and the senate pass the bill, you can vote on it in the upcoming November election.
