Authorities arrest 17-year-old girl in woman's murder

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

Authorities have arrested a 17-year-old girl in the murder of Brittany Aigoro.

The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office charged Arnashia Latifah Stokes of Santee with murder. Stokes was arrested on Monday with the help of the Santee Police Department.

The girl's arrest follows on the heels of 22-year-old Deanna Shaw's arrest on Thursday. Shaw was charged with murder, attempted murder and attempted armed robbery.

Four other suspects have also been arrested including Aigoro's fiance, Aveon Goodman.

The sheriff's office, with the assistance of the Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office, also arrested 22-year-old Brandon Jenkins, 24-year-old Joshua Jenkins and 22-year-old Sheldon Goodman, all of Eutawville, in connection with the shooting.

According to the Berkeley County Coroner's Office, Aigoro, of Pineville, was visiting friends at a house on 1510 Russellville Road near St. Stephen when she was shot and killed.

The investigation revealed that a group of individuals were attempting to carry out an armed robbery of the people at the home.

Gunshots were fired during the armed robbery and two victims were injured. Aigoro succumbed to her injuries while on the scene and another victim was transported to an emergency room and treated for his wounds.
