A host of volunteers lined up bags of fresh sheets and blankets on the sidewalk at Hunter Army Airfield on Oct. 4. The event is called Operation Fluffy Pillow and it allows single soldiers returning home from war to come back to a fresh made bed along with some treats.
"When a soldier walks into their room, they find many hands went into creating their room and providing different items. We enjoy getting as many organizations, church and civic groups together to participate in Operation Fluffy Pillow," said Emily Pettitt, Operation Fluffy Pillow founder.
Operation Fluffy Pillow provides fluffy pillows to four different military bases but they are looking for more organizations to get involved to expand their efforts. Visit http://www.facebook.com/fluffypillowoperation for more information.
