BLUFFTON, SC (WTOC) - A Savannah man who was wanted by Savannah-Chatham Metro Police was arrested on Oct. 4 in Bluffton by the Savannah Office of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Beaufort-Jasper Multi Agency Drug Task Force.
Dwayne Smith, 31, of Bluffton, was wanted on three warrants on charges of aggravated assault, armed robbery and possession of a firearm.
The charges stem from a May 20 incident in Savannah.
The case was referred Savannah Office of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force in September.
The task force got information that Smith was going to turn himself in but he had not, according to the task force. They then generated a new address in Bluffton.
Smith was arrested at #5 Maiden Cane Court without incident. He was taken to the Beaufort County Jail to await extradition.
