Man accused of tasing woman appears in court

RINCON, GA (WTOC) - Michael Pollett, the man accused of robbing a Rincon motel and violently shocking the woman that works there with a stun gun, appeared in court Oct. 5.

Pollett made his first appearance before a Magistrate Judge. His case was bound over to Superior Court where they will decide if he will be allowed bond. Pollett will remain in the Effingham Co. jail until then.

Effingham Co Sheriff's Deputies say Pollett burst into the Microtel Inn office in Rincon and attacked and robbed Angel Wright on Oct. 4. Wright says she worked with Pollett at the motel, trained him, and even nicknamed him Mickey.

"I think that I wouldn't go down made him angry and that's when he started tasing me on my face. In the last scene of the video you can't see but he had me in a headlock and he had the taser stuck to the side of my face holding it repeatedly," said Wright.

Wright has stitches on her face and a burn on her arm but she says she should be okay.
