SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Members of the Chatham County Sheriff's Department are proud to be everyday heroes.
The department showcased how it's deputies and civilians are everyday heroes in our community. From coaching football to volunteer firefighting, they are making a difference and are dedicated United Way contributors. Their goal is to raise $37,000 to help the United Way support charity organizations in our community.
"We want everyone to know the Chatham County Sheriff's department is here to serve. We are here to help," said Corporal Nathaniel Holmes. "We don't want to be as seen as the guy behind the blue lights, and going after the bad guy. We want to play a positive role in the community."
Last year, the Chatham County Sheriff's Department raised $35,000 for United Way.
