HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (WTOC) - The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is seeking help in finding a vehicle believed to be connected to a string of break-ins and thefts on the south end of Hilton Head early last month.
Sheriff's deputies responded on Sept. 5 to several burglaries, thefts, and auto break-ins that happened the night before in the area of North Forest Beach Road. Credit cards, bicycles and a golf cart were among the items stolen.
Investigators discovered that one of the stolen credit cards was used in the early-morning hours of Sept. 5 at a Hardeeville McDonald's drive-through. Surveillance video taken while the vehicle was in the drive-through shows a red pick-up truck with at least two individuals in it. The truck could be a dark red Toyota Tacoma with an after-market front grill, according to the sheriff's office. The surveillance video could not clearly capture the people in the truck.
Those may recognize the vehicle or who may have other information can contact Investigator Cpl. J. Garcia at 843.255.3412 or the Beaufort County Dispatch Center at 843.524.2777.
