SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - All 6 Savannah mayoral candidates gathered at the St. Phillip Monumental on Oct. 6 to discuss their views on everything from harbor deepening to taxes.
The forum was sponsored by the NAACP and the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance.
Organizers are hoping forums like these will give voters the information they need to make an educated vote on election day.
"Read, write, understand your legislation and go out there and vote for the person you think will best serve Savannah. That's what I would want to see. I want to see everybody get out and vote, because if we all get out and vote, then the best person for Savannah will be chosen," said James Jones, NAACP Youth Committee Chair.
This forum is the first in a series. On Oct. 13, the NAACP and the IMA will hold a forum with the candidates running for the Alderman at Large Post 1 and 2 at the Jonesville Baptist Church on Montgomery St.
