PORT ROYAL, SC (WTOC) - Two people were arrested in connection with selling counterfeit merchandise after an investigation by the Port Royal Police Department Neighborhood Enhancement Team.
A search warrant was carried out on Oct. 6 at Big Lou's Entertainment & Styles in Port Royal.
Documents, equipment and items with brand names such as True Religion, Ed Hardy, Louis Vuitton and $100,000 in cash and more than 1,900 pirated recordings were seized during the search, according to Port Royal police.
The store's owner Lubama M. Nzongla and Latoya O. Simmons both were arrested and charged with two counts of illegal sale and distribution of recordings, one count of sale and distribution of counterfeit items (more than $10,000 and less than $50,000).
Latoya Simmons was also charges with unlawful carrying of a handgun.
