SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Many folks took advantage of the cooler temperatures and hitting the streets for a bike ride!
More than 200 people, including our very own Sonny Dixon took part in the first ever Savannah Unity Charity Ride which is raising awareness and money for the Wounded Warrior Project.
The group pedaled for more than 30 miles through the streets of Savannah.
Volunteer leader, Robert Bendetti says, "we just feel honored. It's just a small way we can give back to those who have given so much a lot of them have given until it hurts and so we're just here to try and do our little part."
The ride is also honoring Command Sergeant Major Soto, a pilot with the Third ID Black Hawk Helicopter Unit.
He was deployed to Afghanistan but made it back home Friday night!
