Armstrong hosting lecture by Irish writer


Armstrong Atlantic State University's Irish Studies Club will host a lecture by Irish writer Freida Kelly on Tuesday, Oct. 18.

Kelly will speak on "The History of Dublin's Kilmainham Prison." The presentation will take place at 12 p.m. in Gamble Hall, Room 200 on the AASU campus at 11935 Abercorn St. The event is free and open to the public.

A graduate of the National University of Ireland at Maynooth, Kelly was also a guide at Kilmainham Prison. She also wrote "A history of Kilmainham Goal: The Dismal House of Little Ease."

The Armstrong Irish Studies Club is open to individuals in the community who are interested in Irish culture. The club meets periodically fore lectures on Irish literature, films, history and politics.
