Some lowcountry organizations get a much needed boost

BEAUFORT, SC (WTOC) - The Rotary Club of the Lowcountry handed out $30,000 to nearly a dozen different charities in the area, including the Boys and Girls of the Lowcountry, AMI Kids, CAPA, Hope Haven of the Lowcountry, and the Good Neighbor Medical Clinic. It is money that many of these organizations say will help in a big way.

"With the help of the Rotary, we'll be able to get our kids out to do more challenging events," said James River, AMI Kids. "We do a lot of water activities so it's endless possibilities what we can use it for."

The Rotary group raised the funds through fundraisers like their annual Oyster Roast coming up in November.
