SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah Fire and Emergency Services firefighters responded to a call just after 3:25 p.m. Oct. 10. Firefighters observed smoke coming from the roof of a house at 511 E. 48th St. They were able to contain the fire to a small area of the attic.

The two story brick house sustained fire, smoke and water damage to the back right side of the attic. The living areas of the house also sustained minor water and smoke damage.

Two residents were home at the time of the fire but were able to exit the house without injury. The residents will be displaced due to the need to shut off electrical service to the structure.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
