Savannah Folk Music Festival wraps up

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - The Savannah Folk Music Festival finished up Oct. 9.

All 14 of the Gretsch guitars were sold at a silent auction at Ellis Square during the first night of the festival on Oct. 7. A multimedia collage created by Helen Weitz also sold for big bucks.

Overall, nearly $5,000 was raised. That money goes to pay for the musicians that came to play at the festival.

The threat of wind and rain didn't keep folks away from the big concert Oct. 9. There were plenty of partiers and music lovers that came to Forsyth Park for the finale. Next year's concert will return to Grayson Stadium. The Savannah Folk Music Society could not use the stadium this year because the Sand Gnats already had it booked.
