The Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimers takes place Oct. 15 in Johnson Square.
The Honorary Walk Chairman is Jane Vaden Thacher, president and dealer operator for Vaden Automotive Group.
Each registered participant will receive a Promise Flower, making a commitment to fulfill their promise to remember, to honor, to care and to fight Alzheimer's disease by participating in the Walk's new hands-on and mission-focused element, the Promise Garden, according to an association news release.
Children's activities include family safety thumbprints, bead bracelets, picture frames and face painting.
Registration for the walk starts at 9 a.m. in Johnson Square. The walk around Forsyth Park starts after opening ceremonies at 10 a.m. To find out more about the walk, call 912.920.2231 or register online: www.GeorgiaWalk.org.
