SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Readers' Choice Awards in the November issue of Condé Nast Traveler names Savannah among top destination cities in the U.S.
The final winners were sifted from more than 8 million votes cast in Condé Nast Readers' Choice Awards survey, which reflect 28,876 Condé Nast Traveler readers.
Savannah was ranked No. 7 with 79.1 percent of the vote, according to the survey. Destinations were chosen based on superior ratings for ambience, friendliness, culture, historic sites, restaurants, lodging and shopping.
"The tremendous accolades for Savannah continue to build, and being recognized in this way by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler is a true testimony of our city's ranking with the best-of-the-best in the U.S.," said Joseph Marinelli, president of Visit Savannah, in a statement. "Savannah is experiencing an increasing number of international visitors each year in large part because of this type of positive publicity for our city. Condé Nast Traveler has been an important conduit to people around the world that can lead to potentially buying homes in our region and/or possibly expanding or relocating a business here. The affect of this type of news can impact our entire community."
