Joyner supporters protest for his right to run

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - Ruel Joyner's supporters are not backing down, protesting for his right to run for First District Alderman.

Joyner lost his chance to run on Oct. 7, when the City Clerk determined he did not live in the district. By law, one has to live in the district they represent. Joyner says that he is appealing the decision.

"This is not over. I'm still on the ballot. We're still going to work to represent the people of the first district. We are going to have our day in court. The brief is going to be filed first thing in the morning. I want people to know that this is not over. The fat lady has not sang," said Joyner.

Joyner says he will continue to campaign.
