CAT and SSU announce new late night bus service

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Chatham Area Transit is teaming up with the Tigers from Savannah State University for a new shuttle service. It will be called the Cat Prowler. The bus will run from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. Round trip will cost $3, one way will be $1.50, and students with a valid SSU ID can ride for free. The shuttle goes from the SSU campus to downtown Savannah.

"A lot of our students are from out of town, the Atlanta area, D.C. area, and Chicago. Some are even all the way from Washington state. A lot of them don't have cars nowadays. The cat prowler lets the students experience the city of Savannah," said Jesse Fenton, SSU Student Government Association Vice President.

The Cat Prowler will start running Oct. 14.
