REIDSVILLE, GA (WTOC) - The Reidsville Airport Authority dedicated a new Georgia State Patrol hanger and a huge runway extension on Oct. 14.
Much of the money came through a grant from the One Georgia Foundation, which helps fund projects in rural Georgia. They feel the additional 1,200 feet of runway could mean the difference in a new industry coming here or not.
"It may not bring an industry here. But if it isn't, we might not get a look from someone looking to put an industry here, so we want to stay in the discussion," said Lamar Smith, Airport Authority.
The community started the project five years ago. The Georgia State Patrol houses one of its helicopter teams at the Reidsville Airport.
