BBQ raises money for teen injured in car wreck

METTER, GA (WTOC) -

Ribs, burgers, and more were flying out of Metter's downtown park on Oct. 14. It was all part of an effort to help Dalton Olliff, 18. He is the Metter High senior who was injured in a car wreck on Sept. 25. The wreck also claimed the life of one of his classmates.

Olliff was critically injured and is hospitalized in Atlanta. He and the family face a long recovery.

Folks hosted the BBQ to raise money for the family. The large response is more than Olliff's family can imagine.

"It's just amazing how folks have offered to help and do whatever they can. It makes your heart warm," said Candy Snipes, Dalton's mom.

The cookout will be back from 10 a.m. until all the food is gone on Saturday. They also have inflatables for the kids, entertainment and more.
