Event to offer details on next pill dropoff drive

CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) - The Chatham County Sheriff's Office is holding a news conference Tuesday morning about its upcoming Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

Chatham County Sheriff's Office, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Savannah-Chatham Counter Narcotics Team have teamed up to hold the event on Oct. 29.

Sheriff Al St Lawrence, CNT Director Everett Ragan and Resident Agent in Charge William E. Strother from the DEA will hold a news conference at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

In April, the sheriff's office, DEA, CNT and other law enforcement agencies in Chatham County collected and incinerated more than 400 pounds of unwanted and expired prescription drugs and pills, according to the sheriff's office.
