CHATHAM CO., GA (WTOC) - A brand-new place for those who have lost a pet to go sit and grieve was unveiled Monday.
It's called the Rainbow Bridge. The area is located at the Chatham County Animal Control Facility. The facility's director and a volunteer came up with the idea and were inspired by the rainbow bridge poem which talks about the loss of a pet and the people who they leave behind.
During the ceremony, the Chatham County Sheriff's Office Chaplain Patrick O'Brien also did a blessing of the homeless animals.
