Hunter hosts 2011 Army Soldier Show


The 2011 U.S. Army Soldier Show takes place Wednesday night at Hunter Army Airfield.

It is a 90-minute live musical review that showcasing the talents of active-duty soldiers who audition for the production.

The soldiers are amateur artists who have a passion for music, dance and performing. They are with infantry, transportation, military police, medical intelligence, aviation, signal and other tactical units.

The production is put together in six weeks and then tours for six and a half months. There are 20 performers and four technicians who make up the show. 

The 2011 show includes Hunter's own Pfc. Joseph K. Shaw, a petroleum laboratory specialist with the 260th Quartermaster Battalion, who will sing "Country Thang" by Colt Ford, and other tunes.

Visitors who attend should enter through the Montgomery St. Gate on Duncan Drive. 

The show will be held at 7 p.m. at the Tominac Fitness Center, which is to the left of Duncan.
