SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - There's just one month left in the 2011 United Way fund-raising campaign.
They held a mid-campaign rally on Wednesday in Monterey Square. Campaign Chair Michael Traynor announced they have raised more than $4 million. That's more than half of their $8.2 million goal. They have until Nov. 18 to reach that goal.
"We're really excited about the support. We've seen in the community both the volunteers, the companies, the cabinet, etc. are just doing a great job of reaching out and helping those in our community who need it," Traynor said.
The United Way of the Coastal Empire serves Bryan, Chatham, Effingham and Liberty counties. To help them reach the goal, go to their website.
