Arnold Palmer to visit Hilton Head Island

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC (WTOC) - It's Arnold Palmer Day On Hilton Head Island.

Palmer made his mark On Hilton Head in 1969 when he captured the PGA Tour'S Inaugural Classic on the new Harbor Town Golf Links. Mayor Drew Laughlin has named Oct. 20 Palmer Day.

The Arnold Palmer Design Co. is making sure his legacy never leaves the Lowcountry by renovating the Wexford Plantation.

Arnold will be at the course Thursday to take a tour and attend a luncheon.
