First District candidate trying to step into the spotlight

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - There are just two weeks left until Election Day and while the First District Alderman race has attracted a lot of attention, one candidate has not.

Flying under the radar is candidate Tonia Miller. She says now that Ruel Joyner's recent victory over the City of Savannah after a residency challenge is over, she is hoping more people will start talking about her.

"I believe in due process and I wish Ruel the best. Now the decision is up to the voters. And again, preferably it will be me because that is who I'm voting for," said Miller, First District candidate.

Miller grew up in west Savannah and says that her campaign slogan, Its Miller Time, is catching on. The First District candidates met in another forum Oct. 20 with the NAACP. WTOC's Brandi Cummings moderated the event.
