AASU to hold Treasure Day of Service

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) - More than 500 faculty, staff and alumni from Armstrong Atlantic State University are participating in the Treasure Day of Service on Saturday.

They'll be wearing green AASU T-shirts and will be led by university President Linda Bleicken to do community service activities at 15 nonprofit organizations across the regions from 9 a.m. to noon.

The day of service started in fall 2010 as part of Bleicken's inauguration week festivities in an effort that would strengthen Armstrong's ties to the community, according to AASU.

It is now a biannual event that takes place each fall and spring.
