Police and ambulance crews were called to Bay Street and Augusta Avenue and tried to talk to an injured woman found there. But she was unconscious at the scene and only became combative when they tried to begin first aid. It took four people to get the victim into the ambulance and she was rushed to Memorial Health for treatment.
Friends of the victim say she was at a nearby party and decided to leave. When they noticed her gone, her friends went looking for her and saw the emergency lights on Bay Street where police and the ambulance had stopped.
It's not known if the victim was hit by a car, pushed out of a car, or injured some other way. Fortunately, her injuries are not life threatening.
