Police and firefighters gear up for Guns-N-Hoses Eat Off

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Some firefighters and police officers are getting ready for the annual Guns-N-Hoses Eat Off for Charity. The B&D Burger challenge is set to take place Nov. 2. Savannah Fire won the challenge last year but Savannah-Chatham Metro Police say they are training hard for this year's event.

"Work on it ahead of time and stretch. We promised not to have it the Friday before the rock n roll marathon," said Gena Moore, Savannah Chatham Metro Police Dept.

If Savannah Fire wins the challenge, $1,000 will go to the Southeastern Firefighter Burn Foundation. If the Savannah-Chatham Metro Police win, $1,000 will go to the United Way. The event is open to the public and the contest will take place at 2 p.m. Nov. 2 at the band shell in Forsyth Park.
